Why Sugar Is So Bad For You

Go to the grocery store and you’ll find yourself surrounded by the deadly substance known as sugar. Refined especially, it is not good for anyone, and it’s considered a chemical. It contains nothing but empty calories and doesn’t contain any nutritional value whatsoever.

Unfortunately there will always be an argument as to whether all sugars are bad. For example, some foods naturally contain sugar and are considered carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are broken down by the body and turned into energy.

Foods like white rice, bread and potatoes are considered bad carbohydrates since they can cause health problems when they are not eaten in moderation.

Whole grains, fruits and some vegetables are considered good carbohydrates and can supply many of the nutrients that your body needs for survival.

However, what many people don’t realize is that even eating good carbohydrates can be just as deadly as bad ones if we don’t eat them in moderation.

Eating too many carbohydrates forces our body to store it as fat. In time that fat can lead to health problems such as obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes.

But, the problems just don’t stop there. Eating too many sugary foods can slow the process of calcium and magnesium absorption in the body.

It can cause tooth decay, bleeding gums and bone loss. It can cause yeast infections and hypertension in children and even adults. It can also increase symptoms of chronic fatigue and Premenstrual Syndrome. It can even cause depression and cancer.

The bad news is people just can’t stop eating sugary foods. It’s addictive just like a drug. The good news is if you have children you can help them reduce their sweet-tooth cravings.

Start by slowly introducing your kids to fruits instead of cookies and vegetables instead of potato chips. Then offer them natural juices and water instead of sodas and other sugary drinks.

But, you should also set a good example yourself. If you’re eating cookies or cake or drinking soda, you shouldn’t expect your children to eat healthier when you’re not.

Instead, show them that you’re willing to do the same. Try trading your typical morning doughnut for a bowl of whole grain cereal with some fresh fruit. And the next time you go to the store, stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables and skip the process foods isles. After all, it’s your health we’re talking about!

What is Genetic Engineering?

In the recent years man has improved in his quest for scientific knowledge. He has gone far and beyond and has reached the depth of what some may consider madness, but others know as cloning.

Of course why should we worry, right? He’s only cloning an animal, which has nothing to do with us personally, right?

What if man genetically engineered a plant? What if he used that same genetic engineering to alter the food that we consume? Would you be worried then?

While many of us may assume that scientists would not alter the DNA of the foods that we eat, they are certainly doing so. Changing the structure of a plant’s DNA means scientists can extend the life of plants so that we can have a particular food all year round.

For example, scientists can now alter the DNA of a tomato so that is resists freezing temperatures. Scientists have also used DNA altering to create bigger animals such as cows and pigs, for consumption. DNA isn’t just used in food, however.

Scientists have discovered new ways to produce vaccines used to fight disease with genetic engineering. The same technology may also help reduce or even eliminate the risk of diseases such as emphysema, muscular dystrophy and cystic fibrosis. Yet, at what cost is this all being done?

Many believe there are risks when it comes to altering DNA, whether it is in animals, plants or man. For instance, an allergic reaction could easily occur when DNA is altered in foods.

While a person might not be allergic to soy butter, they may be allergic to peanut butter. If the soy nut and peanut were combined using DNA, it could cause an allergic reaction to a consumer who purchases that product.

Another example could be a resistance to an anti-biotic. Since vaccines are a common result of altered DNA, it’s possible that our bodies could resist a particular altered DNA over time.

And what if the nutritional value of foods was no longer available to us? This could be a real possibility if scientists continue to change the DNA of a plant’s cell.

Without nutrition our bodies will eventually crash and die. Just think about it, if scientists are able to create that tomato which resists cold, how easy would it be for them to create a tomato that looks fresh, but really isn’t?

We get nutrition for fresh foods that come from nature. If scientists play around with these, how will we survive?

Eat real food, not genetically modified food.

While it is nearly impossible to know what foods have or haven’t been altered, it’s safe to assume that foods that are grown from your local farmer’s market are okay.

So, choose your foods wisely and while you’re at it, choose your vitamins wisely. Look for vitamins that are 100% natural real food nutrition, like SeaAloe, and skip those that contain chemicals. After all, your life doesn’t need to be any more complicated than it already is.

Fiber, also known as bulk, is found in Mother Nature’s plants. There are two types of the well-known nutrient. They are insoluble and soluble.

Insoluble is found in whole grains, bran, nuts and vegetables. Insoluble dissolves in water, which allows the food to move fast through the body. People who eat products that are insoluble may be able to reduce the affects of constipation and diabetes.

Soluble is found in oats, fruits, barely, beans and flax seeds. Unlike insoluble, soluble absorbs water, which allows the food to move slower, making you feel fuller, longer. People who choose soluble products may be able to lower their cholesterol levels and heart disease.

There is a negative side to eating a food that is soluble, however. If you suffer from intestinal gas, you may want to increase soluble products slowly to allow your body to get use to the changes. If you continue to experience problems it may be best to avoid eating those types of products all together.

In order for a food to be labeled higher than others, it must contain at least 5 grams per serving of the nutrient. That’s not much, but you actually need at least 30 grams per a day in order to maximize your health.

Foods with 5 grams or more grams per serving include, apples, artichokes, avocadoes, barley, black beans, brown rice, carrots, flax seeds, garbanzo beans, grapefruit, kale, kidney beans, lentils, lima beans, oats, pears, peas, raspberries, soybeans and sweet potatoes.

There are so many ways to include this beneficial nutrient in your diet that there’s no reason for you not to! Even if you don’t have any of the health related issues that may benefit from this nutrient, you may find it to be a wonderful solution to managing your weight.

You may also want to include SeaAloe as a way to continue managing your health and keeping your body in tip-top shape. Sea Aloe is a great tasting whole food liquid nutritional supplement that is rich in the vitamins and minerals your body needs everyday. It’s 100% natural and 100% goodness.

What Is High Fructose Corn Syrup?

Most of us are pretty conscious about what we let our kids eat and what we won’t let them eat, but even those so-called good for our kids products may be doing more harm than good! So the next time you go shopping, take some time to read the labels of your child’s favorite breakfast cereal or juice. Chances are it’s loaded with the worse kind of sugars.

For example, high fructose corn syrup is a sugar substitute often found in many food products like breakfast cereal and juice. The sugary substitute, which comes from cornstarch, is processed into a combination of fructose and sucrose sugars.

The result is an extremely sweet product that is used in soft drinks, juice cocktails, canned fruits, frozen foods, jams, condiments, breads, cookies, candy, cakes and other desserts.

The process was developed in the early 1970’s by a Japanese researcher by the name of Dr. Y. Taskasaki. They discovered that the sugar substitute was easier to transport and store because it is a liquid. Researchers also discovered that it could be made cheaply and sold for a high profit.

The result of that high profit is not only a waste of money; it could also be dangerous to our children’s health.

First of all, that sugar substitute in that product is most likely genetically modified, meaning scientists have altered it in some way to make it even more profitable to manufacturers.

There are also raising concerns that consuming large quantities of the sweet stuff can increase our risk of liver damage, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, anemia, and high cholesterol. It can also cause poor bowel movements, stomach cramps and bloating. Even worse, high fructose corn syrup may result in death in some people.

Still, manufacturers simply don’t care. They know that many of us don’t have the time to stop and look at every label we come across. They know that our children love sweets and are easier to persuade than adults. They know that we put our trust into products that claim to be healthy. And they know that they can easily make a profit from all of this.

Yet there is no reason we can’t eliminate many of the products containing the dangerous sweetened substitute from our lives. We are in control of what we do to our bodies. We can eat whole foods that are good for us and kick the junk foods out the door. Even if we can’t completely eliminate those foods from our lives, we can minimize them.

We can also add a whole food vitamins and minerals supplement like SeaAloe to our diet and help make up for all of the junk we consume.

Sea Aloe is a liquid vitamin that is 100% natural, so there are no dangerous additives like high fructose corn syrup to worry about. There is no better time than now to take control of your life.

What Are Artificial Sweeteners?

If you’re diabetic, you’re probably praising the idea of a sugar substitute. But did you know that substitutes like artificial sweeteners may actually do more harm than good?

These sugars are chemicals used in replace of the sugar (sucrose) found in everyday use. They are known as food additives and can copy natural sugars that are supposedly less in calories. Many of these sugar substitutes are sweeter than the regular stuff; it cheaper for the manufacturer to package.

There are actually five sugar substitutes that are approved by the FDA in the United States. They are acesulfame potassium, aspartame, neotame, saccharin and sucralose. Two of those five sugars are of major concern to many researchers. They are aspartame and sucralose.

Aspartame was founded in 1965 by a researcher named James M. Schlatter. Schlatter was working on an anti-ulcer drug when he accidentally discovered that aspartame was edible and sweet.

Aspartame is actually a crystalline powder that is derived from the amino acids known as aspartic acid and phenylalanine. Over the years aspartame has been used in many products including beverages, chewing gum and frozen desserts.

It was first thought that aspartame caused brain tumors in lab rats. However, in 1981 Arthur Hull Hayes a man who had just been appointed as commissioner of the FDA, approved aspartame. Yet interestingly enough, Hayes was also had several close friends that were a part of the artificial sweeteners manufacturers.

Imagine that.

Sucralose is a chlorinated sugar that is extremely sweeter than natural sugar. It derived from sucrose when chlorine atoms replace hydroxyl groups. It is found in baked goods, chewing gum, gelatins and frozen treats. Although the FDA approves it, Sucralose is thought to have some possible side effects. Migraine headaches and damage to thymus glands are both possible effects from using sucralose.

Yet knowing what’s safe and trusting our government to provide us with safe food may not always seem like a wise thing. So far there have been two sugar substitutes that were marketed before the FDA banned them for consumption.

They were lead acetate, an extremely dangerous sugar substitute made from lead, and cyclamate, a sweetener tested with deadly results in lab rats.

If that doesn’t make you stop and take notice, think about this. That sweetener that you are using is actually just as reasonable to make as natural sugar.

However, manufacturers increase the price of their product nearly double compared to the natural stuff. Not only are you risking your health, you’re wasting money as well.

What Are Processed Foods?

If you’re in a hurry to pick something up for a quick meal at the grocery store, what’s the first thing you grab? If you find yourself lingering towards a prepackaged food like a TV dinner because it’s easy to prepare, you could be setting yourself up for all sorts of nasty chemicals and artificial stuff.

Grocery stores aren’t the only places you can find unhealthy quick meals, however. Your favorite fast food restaurant is just as loaded with artificial stuff as those prepackaged meals.

Food processing begins when food is altered to make it last longer, easier to prepare and look more presentable to the consumer. Some examples for processing food include cutting, peeling, juicing, boiling, frying, baking, pasteurizing, canning, drying and packaging.

Some of these foods may include lunchmeats, cereals, canned foods, frozen dinners, packaged meals, bakery goods, chips, crackers, and candy.

Not every processed food is bad, however. There are some prepackaged conveniences such as frozen vegetables that don’t contain man-made additives.

As easy as it is to blame technology for these unhealthy convenient meals, food processing has been going on since the dawn of time. Because food would spoil quickly, man used salt to preserve many types of meat. They also used the sun and fire to dry meals for future storage.

Soon man discovered that his meal could be freeze-dried and vacuum-sealed to allow military troops and astronauts the easy of an already prepared meal. And eventually, the idea of prepackaged meals came into play.

So, what exactly makes these convenient meals so unhealthy? Most convenient meals contain trans fats, saturated fats, sugar preservatives and sodium. Plus, there are additives such as color, flavorings and other chemicals that most of us can’t even pronounce!

A good example is MSG, also known as monosodium glutamate. MSG is a flavoring that is commonly found in Asian food. Some people who consume products containing MSG may be exposed to possible side effects such as numbing, burning, chest pain, headache, nausea and increased heart rate.

However, MSG isn’t the only culprit that can cause health problems. Nearly every unhealthy additive added to those quick and convenient meals has been linked to heart disease, mental disabilities, kidney failure, obesity, diabetes and many other disease and health related problems.

Now is that a risk you’re really willing to take? If not, you may want to try eliminating many of those foods from your diet.

Then try adding a nutritional health supplement such as SeaAloe to increase the nutrients your body really needs. And don’t worry; Sea Aloe is a whole food, which means it doesn’t contain anything unnatural. You can rest assured that Sea Aloe is not a “processed food”.

Get back to healthy living and get back your life!

About Migraine Headaches

Facing your day with a headache is never fun, but facing your day with a migraine is even worse! If you suffer from migraines, you’re certainly not alone. As a matter of fact, migraines affect more than 29 million people and that number could actually increase in the next several years!

A migraine headache can happen at anytime and last for up to 48 hours. Some sufferers could experience the painful headaches once a week while others may only experience them a few times a year. The pain maybe moderate to severe and could be accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

While it is unknown as to what really causes migraines, there are some risks factors that are associated with the headaches. Most people tend to suffer from migraines between the ages of 15 and 55. A majority of migraine suffers are women and those who have a family history associated with them.

Even with the risk factors there are some things that can bring on the migraines. Getting too much or not enough sleep, consuming large amounts of caffeine, missing meals, smoking, stress and menstruating are all activities that can trigger migraines.

Some foods can also trigger migraines. For example, processed meats, aged cheese, chocolate and foods containing MSG (monosodium glutamate) may all trigger migraines.

While there is no cure for migraines, there are some things that may be able to reduce the symptoms of the painful headache. Getting the right amount of sleep every night, limiting caffeine and eating at least three healthy meals a day may help keep migraines to a minimum.

You should also avoid processed foods completely if possible, or at least keep them to a minimum. Almost every food item that comes in a can or box has MSG in it.

In addition to the simple lifestyle changes, making sure you’re getting the proper nutition may also help.

While it is unclear just how powerful vitamins and minerals may be in the aid against migraines, they are certainly worth considering.

SeaAloe is a great tasting all-natural vitamins and minerals supplement that contains over 80 nutrients and all essential amino acids. Sea Aloe contains NO man-made artificial nutrients.

All About Caffeine

You sit down and pour yourself the usual cup of coffee every single morning before you start your day just to wake yourself up. Then by lunchtime you find yourself purchasing a soda from the vending machine to keep you going through the rest of your workday.

By the time you get home, you’re so exhausted that you barely have enough energy to cook dinner or clean house. If this sounds like you, you’re not alone.

Caffeine, an alkaloid found in certain plants, is often used as a stimulant in many man-made products. In its truest form the plant is very bitter and must be altered in some way in order to disguise the taste. The substance can be found in tea, coffee, soft drinks, cocoa, nuts and even medications. For most of us it is highly unlikely that we haven’t consumed the stimulant at some point in our lives.

Caffeine has been around since the dawn of time. As a matter of fact it was first noted around 2700 B.C. where our ancestors chewed the bark, seeds and leaves of the plants for energy. It wasn’t until sometime later that they began steeping the leaves in hot water to create what we know as tea.

Soon after coffee was discovered, followed by cocoa in 600 BC which could be found mixed with chili pepper and other spices for a deliciously spicy drink. In the 1700’s Spain introduced Europe to the delectable treat known as chocolate and by 1880 the world was introduced to soft drinks.

The substance is so popular that by 1958 the FDA had declared the stimulating drug as “safe.” Yet just how safe is it really?

While it’s a well-known fact that a caffeinated beverage such as coffee can give you an energy high, it can also cause heart complications, increased blood pressure, bone loss and miscarriage, if it is taken in large quantities.

Too much of the stuff can also leave you with irritability, fatigue, headaches and stomach aches. And for others it can cause numbness to the face and jitteriness in as little as one cup.

Yet the worst part is, many caffeinated beverages are now easily available in very high doses to almost anyone who wants one.

In small doses it seems it may very well be worth it. However, consuming anything more than 2 cups of coffee per a day in adults and you’re more than likely asking for trouble. So for the sake of your health, you’re better off just giving the stuff up.

A better idea is to feed your body the vitamins and minerals it needs to give you the energy you need the way Mother Nature intended.

SeaAloe is a balanced whole food nutritional supplement that contains 13 superfoods from around the world providing over 80 nutrients and all essential amino acids.

What Are the Health Benefits of Amino Acids?

Most of us already know that we need amino acids in our diet, but have you ever wondered why they are so beneficial to us? Unlike most vitamins and minerals, this organic acid is actually made up of several different compounds. Each compound falls under one of two groups known as essential and non-essential.

Both are equally important and can benefit us in many ways.

For example Alanine is needed to produce the protein that our body needs. It is also vital because it aids in making sure that our central nervous system runs smoothly. Alanine also produces the antibodies that help strengthen our immune system.

Aspartic Acid is essential for protecting the liver from toxics and our body from radiation. It can also give us the energy we may need when we’re feeling more tired than usual.

Carnosine protects cells from damage done by free radicals, which can cause aging and disease.

Cysteine helps to protect the stomach’s inner lining as well as the intestines. It could also help reduce the damage caused by some medications.

Histidine is essential because it helps protect nerve cells and reduce damage to body tissues. The compound also helps produce our blood cells and protect us from metal toxins that we can absorb through some fish.

Isoleucine keeps our energy levels and a steady pace. But, it also is essential for those who need to keep the blood sugars regulated on a daily basis.

Leucine plays an important role in reducing the sores caused by the virus known as herpes.

Lysine is important because it uses protein to build muscle. Lysine could also play an important role in the fight against genital herpes.

Phenylalanine may help people who are experiencing depression or Parkinson’s disease. The compound may also help those suffering from obesity.

Threonine has the ability to reduce stress and anxiety, but it may also be able to aid in the fight against viral infections.

Tryptophan may be able to minimize pains associated with menstrual cramps. The compound could also help relax those who have trouble sleeping.

Valine is another compound which could aid those who have trouble sleeping. It is also used as an aid for drug addiction and some mental and emotional disorders.

While these are just a few of the essential benefits of amino acids, they are all important in some way or another. Without them we’d stop, functioning, stop living. And we certainly don’t want that!

SeaAloe contains over 80 nutrients and all essential amino acids.

What Are Some Symptoms of Vitamin and Mineral Deficiency?

If you’re not getting enough vitamins and minerals, you may very well be setting yourself up for all sorts of problems if you haven’t already. Take a good hard look at yourself. Have you noticed anything unusual about yourself? Are you more tired than usual? Does your skin seem a lot drier or maybe your nails are brittle? Or maybe you find that you bruise from even the slightest touch.

These could all be symptoms of a deficiency in vitamins and minerals. It’s not uncommon and you’re certainly not alone. But, you could be putting yourself at risk for more serious complications such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, depression, hearing loss and more.

When you don’t get enough nutrients in your diet, you’re letting your body down. You know how you’re always complaining about how easily your nails break or how tired you always are? Well, you can change that! The first thing you’ll want to do is determine what problems you may be creating from lack of nutrients.

If you have brittle nails you may need to add more calcium to your diet. If you’re lacking calcium you may also be putting yourself at risk for depression, tooth decay or osteoporosis.

If you bruise easily you should check your copper intake. Not getting enough copper in your diet could also result in fatigue, fragile bones and even hair loss.

If you suffer from dry skin you might not be getting enough fatty acids. Those who don’t get enough may also suffer from hair loss, acne, eczema or more serious complications such liver degeneration.

If you’re pregnant and find yourself tired all of the time, you may need to increase you folic acid intake. Not getting enough folic acid in your diet may also create unwanted headaches, a loss of appetite and even defects of your baby’s fetus.

Brittle nails may also be caused by a lack of iron. However, if you bruise easily, not enough iron could result in anemia. This nutrient also causes fatigue and headaches in some people.

If you find that your hair is a little drier than normal, you may need to add more vitamin A to your diet. The nutrient could also be the reason you’re tired or have an unusual breakout of acne.

When you’re feeling a little more susceptible to colds and the flu, check your intake of vitamin C. Not enough of the stuff and you may find yourself fighting a long winter season ahead.

Even if you think you’re getting enough nutrients in your diet, you may want to take a dietary supplement such as SeaAloe. Sea Aloe is a whole food nutritional health supplement that contains over 80 nutrients that are full of the vitamins and minerals that your body needs.

Feed your body and it will thank you.

What Is an ORAC Value?

ORAC is the abbreviated meaning for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, which measures how may antioxidants a food can absorb. This is especially important since antioxidants fight the free radicals (atoms) that bounce around wildly inside your body.

So what’s so important about that? When free radicals are allowed to run loosely throughout your body they can cause damage to your cells. Once those cells are damaged, it can lead to unwanted diseases and illnesses.

Antioxidants stop those free radicals by combining vitamins and minerals to help slow down the damaging atoms. Antioxidants come from the foods we eat. The higher the level of antioxidant the better chance we stand of reducing the damage caused by free radicals.

Scientists use Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity to study the value of food to determine which are the highest in antioxidants. Scientists believe that the ORAC value should be around 5,000 units per day. However, that is easier said than done.

In order to meet that goal you would need to consume about 9 vegetables or fruits a day. Unfortunately studies show that most people only consume about 20% of that goal.

Yet, there are certain foods that are higher on the list than others. Raisins and blackberries both have a score of over 2,000, while strawberries, raspberries and raw spinach come in at over 1,000.

It’s easy enough to just skip the idea of eating foods that are high in antioxidants, but if you do you could be missing out on a lot. It’s possible those antioxidants could actually minimize the affects of long-term memory loss as well as reduce many of the aging symptoms that we experience, as we grow older.

Instead of skipping your chance at living well, you could take an all-natural vitamins and minerals supplement like SeaAloe, which contains many of the antioxidants that may help slow the aging process and help your immune system keep you healthy and vibrant.

Sea Aloe also contains many other whole foods that are essential in nutrients.

Imagine 13 whole foods packed into one bottle! And the best part about SeaAloe is it’s a great-tasting liquid! No more trying to swallow a handful of pills and capsules that can get caught in your throat!

Plus, Sea Aloe is 100% all natural, which means it doesn’t contain any additives and artificial nutrients unlike many other vitamin products do.

Imagine one vitamin and mineral supplement for the entire family! You would never have to purchase a cabinet full of vitamins again! So now what are you waiting for? It’s your health, it’s your life! Why not really start living it?

What Are Vitamin Supplements?

All vitamin supplements are not the same. Manufacturers want us to believe that their product is the best, but many vitamins simply don’t contain the essential nutrients needed for everyday living.

Most manufacturers single out vitamins to customers who believe they only need a specific one.

Unfortunately what many of us don’t realize is our lives are busy enough that we don’t always have the time to include every essential nutrient our body needs. That’s why it’s extremely important that we include a good natural whole food multi-vitamin supplement in our diet.

Unlike Mother Nature’s vitamins, a supplement can come in pill, capsule and liquid form and are generally man-made. A man-made supplement often uses ingredients that contain chemicals, sugar and other additives that can harm us.

True vitamins are those found only in the plants and animals that we consume. They are from Mother Nature and don’t contain any unnatural substances.

We need vitamins in order to keep our metabolism in tip-top shape. They also convert fat and carbohydrates into energy so that we are not so tired all of the time. Without them, our bodies would not be able to fight infections or diseases.

For instance, vitamins B5 and B6 are both essential in minimizing the risk of severe mood swings. Vitamin B12 is important for those who could be at risk for pernicious anemia.

Yet too much of a dose in vitamins can affect your health as well. For example, if you take too much iron you could cause damage to nearly every major organ in your body.

Even if you think you’re getting enough nutrients for your body, you may want to consider some other possible reasons for taking vitamins.

If you do not eat meat, you are more than likely missing protein in your diet, which is an essential nutrient needed for a healthy body. So no matter who you are, you need vitamins in order to survive.

But, what about all of the choices out that are out there on the market? Who do you trust?

The first thing you should look for when choosing vitamins is one that is a natural whole food products that contains no fillers, additives or synthetic man-made nutrients.

These types of vitamins are best because they work with your body, not against it.

A good example is SeaAloe. Sea Aloe is a whole foods vitamins and minerals product that contains over 80 nutrients and all essential amino acids (and nothing that your body doesn’t need.) It’s in a great-tasting liquid form that is easy to swallow and is safe for the entire family.

Try a bottle of SeaAloe today.

What Are the Health Benefits of White Grape Juice?

For many moms and dads choosing a juice for their family isn’t always that simple. There are literally hundreds of brands that claim to be beneficial to your health. Unfortunately not every one is created equal and some manufacturers will go as far to use low quality ingredients, added fillers, and mislabeling just to make a high profit.

Yet, even some natural fruits can be hard on the stomach. Studies have shown that white grape may actually be easier to digest because it doesn’t contain sorbitol, a sugar compound found in many other fruits. While sorbitol isn’t dangerous, it can cause gas and diarrhea in babies and toddlers. Instead, white grape has natural sugars, which are gentler on the digestive system.

Youngsters are not the only ones who may benefit from the fruit, however. With the grape’s powerful antioxidants, it could just be the perfect choice for your health.

Antioxidants are known for their role in reducing free radicals that can damage the cells in your body and causing aging.

The fruit may also help women who are easily prone to iron deficiencies. An iron deficiency also known as anemia can cause severe fatigue.

Another common problem in women is urinary tract infections. Because grapes may reduce the acid in your urine, your kidneys may not work as hard as they do when you have an infection, which could result in fewer kidney problems.

If you decide to purchase this beneficial food in its drinkable form, make sure that it’s 100% pure by avoiding anything that contains additives or labeled with the word “cocktail.”

You may also want to consider adding the great-tasting dietary supplement SeaAloe to your daily routine since it contains this same wonderful fruit, plus other whole foods that are essential for a healthy body.

Sea Aloe is a liquid vitamin that is all natural, so you don’t have to worry about dangerous additives and chemicals that synthetic vitamins contain.

What Does Bio-Availability Mean?

You probably already know that you should be eating healthy, that is if you’re not already doing so, but have you ever wondered what so many of the terms used in healthy eating really mean?

For instance did you know that bio-availability is a term used to describe the amount of a dose of a drug or other nutrient or substance that reaches circulation in the body?

Okay, so for those of us who aren’t scientists that might not make much sense, but basically the term means it’s a measurement used to make sure we’re absorbing the right amount of medications, etc.

When you take a medication, vitamin or certain foods, your body must be able to absorb it. If you’re already taking another medication then your body might not recognize the new medication and allow it to go directly to your stomach. The same goes for many of the nutrients your body needs.

Because your body cannot absorb many nutrients, scientists are using the technology to make sure we get what we need. Without those nutrients you are susceptible to illnesses and disease since your body is unable to defend itself as easily.

Combining different foods with one another can make an incredible difference in how your body absorbs nutrients. If you were to eat a spinach salad alone, it might not absorb the nutrients in that salad as easily. However, if you were to add some orange slices to that salad, your body could absorb the nutrients so much easier.

There are also combinations, which you may be better of avoiding if you’re concerned about nutrients. Caffeinated beverages such as coffee, soda and tea may actually lessen the absorption of some vitamins and minerals.

Yet food combinations are not the only way your body could lose valuable nutrition. How foods are processed could also cause some vitamins and minerals to absorb less.

Food absorption is not the only use for bio-availability. The term is also used in the environment to determine the amount of toxic chemicals that we tend to absorb. Scientists can also study plants and animals in the same manner to determine the effects chemicals have on the plant and animal population.

So whether scientists use it for nutrients or toxic levels, their research is a vital key to your health and its future.

SeaAloe uses proprietary processing techniques to enhance nutrient absorption for enhanced bio-availabilty.

What Is Homeopathic Medicine?

Everywhere in the news we see people addicted to over-the counter medications and prescription drugs. Sometimes those faces get lucky and spend time in a rehab center where they’re able to get help with their addiction while others are not as lucky. It’s tragic what a man-made medication can do to a body, yet it doesn’t have to be that way. There are other alternatives to the highly addictive drugs that can break us down.

Homeopathic medicine is a natural way to help relieve some of the most common health problems that we tend to suffer from. This safer alternative works by using the plants and minerals that are found in Mother Nature. It is then administered in small amounts into the body where it creates a natural defense to ward off symptoms of illnesses like arthritis, back pain, canker sores, depression, diabetes, insomnia, and menopause.

Yet what many people don’t realize is that this type of natural medication isn’t new. As a matter of fact it has been around for centuries. Many cultural tribes have been using natural medications as a means for minimizing the symptoms of many diseases and illnesses for years. They knew what the powerful plants of Mother Nature could do for us. Today there are over 2000 natural medications known.

Still, some non-believers worry whether or not Mother Nature’s own medication can really help certain symptoms. And then there is the idea of how some believe that they will never become addicted to any drug, which can be true for certain people! But, while not everyone may become addicted to a synthetic drug, there can also be dangerous side effects for some users caused by the drug.

In fact there is a higher risk of side effects with over-the counter medications and prescription drugs than with Mother Nature’s own medicines since our bodies work with, not against, Mother Nature. Plus, sometimes it just makes more sense to get back to mother nature rather than spend hundreds of dollars on a man-made drug.

But really, if you want to spend your hard earned money on a drug that gives you side affects and could become habit forming, the choice is yours. However, if you’re one of the many believers that a natural alternative like homeopathic medicine is the way to go, you may want to consider including a natural vitamin in your daily routine as well.

Choosing a natural whole food vitamin such as Sea Aloe may be the perfect reason for anyone just wanting to include a little more health into his or her body. Of course the choice is yours.

What Is a Functional Food?

For most of us, eating is an enjoyable indulgence that nourishes the body and soul, but did you know that a functional food could do more than that? These foods may include everything from fresh to processed, however not all are created equal.

In the early 1980’s the government of Japan used the word functional as a label for certain foods that they claimed were beneficial to our health. However, other countries were not willing to follow in their footsteps until more recently. Still, a product cannot just claim to be the answer for everything that ails us. And unlike Japan, the United States does not have an approval process for them.

Today however, companies have the ability to include words like “Enriched” or “Fortified” to make us more apt in buying their products. But even so, some of us may be asking if they are really as beneficial as they claim to be. As much as some companies would like us to think so, there is some disagreement.

For one, almost anything that is prepackaged is more than likely a processed food, which really isn’t healthy to begin with. Most products that are processed contain a high amount of sodium and sugar, neither of which are really good for you. In addition, many processed goods are loaded with additives and preservatives.

A functional food does something more for you than just satisfy your hunger and fill you up. It provides something that your body needs in addition to calories.

SeaAloe is a great-tasting functional food and dietary supplement that contains over 80 nutrients and all essential amino acids. And, Sea Aloe is a natural whole foods product with NO artificial man-made synthetic nutrients.

What About Whole Food Vitamins?

The temptation of sweets is everywhere. It’s all too tempting as an adult to indulge in a sweet treat and it’s even worse when you’re a parent. Children often don’t understand why their favorite sugary treat is unhealthy and why they’re made to eat a leafy green that doesn’t have that same sweet taste.

And we known darn well that trying to explain why those leafy greens are so much healthier than an ice cream cone almost always falls on deaf ears, yet we do it anyway. We are determined as parents to make sure our kids eat right even if it means sneaking fruits and vegetables into a less nutritious meal or taking away that sweet treat.

Getting your kids to consume good nutrients doesn’t have to be a fight at the dinner table, however. With the option of whole food vitamins kids don’t have to always give up their favorite treat.

Whole food vitamins are supplements that are filled with all of the essential organic nutrients that parents love and kids need. They are the foods that we find in Mother Nature that do not contain sugars, chemicals, artificial flavors or colors. The best way to include such a supplement is with a vitamin such as Sea Aloe.

SeaAloe whole food vitamins contain the most essential nutrients needed for our health. Sea Aloe contains wholesome ingredients like aloe vera, sea vegetables, Pau D’ Arco, cranberries, white and concord grapes and black cherries.

Of course it can be just as simple to take another supplement that contains similar ingredients, but do they include over 80 essential nutrients in a great-tasting liquid form?

Think about it. Over 80 essential vitamins and minerals, nutrients and elements in one bottle! You could probably never get that from your kids just from eating alone.

Now think about this…

When you’re a kid your throat is a lot smaller than when you’re an adult and trying to swallow something that’s in the form of a pill or capsule can become a choking hazard. Plus what child wants to try to swallow something solid when he or she has the option of swallowing a great-tasting liquid instead?

So if you’re worried that your child isn’t getting enough of the essential nutrients that they need, it’s time to stop worrying and start giving your child the best life possible, starting now!

What Is Vegan Certified?

In today’s society, going to the store can be very frustrating, especially if you’re a vegetarian. It’s easy to walk into a store and ask for foods that are vegan certified, but if an employee has no idea what that means, he or she may mistakenly lead you to organic products which is definitely not the same.

To get an idea of what vegetarian certification assists of, it’s best if we first understand what a vegetarian is.

Not everyone is okay with having an animal sacrificed just so he or she can eat or look good. Those that follow this belief are known as vegetarians. Some may choose to remove animal from their diet and lifestyle entirely while others may decide that it’s okay to eat fish or anything containing egg products.

Of course not everyone can make this sort of commitment, but more and more companies are taking notice and making sure that those who do believe in a cruelty-free lifestyle can enjoy products that don’t use animals in any way. These products can be everything from food to clothing to cosmetics and even furniture.

However, who’s to know those products are really free from animal cruelty? This is where Vegan Action steps in. They make sure that any product claiming to be animal free is in fact that. This is done by placing a logo on the product as a means of letting vegetarians know that it is safe from animal cruelty.

Even if there is a logo on that product, vegetarians need to keep in mind that it may not be organic. They may also want to keep in mind that the product may not be entirely free from eggs or dairy since the logo doesn’t guarantee farm machinery is cleaned between uses. There may also be companies who use equipment that is not free of animal use. So while most animal-free products carry a logo stating just that, there are a few stipulations.

Still, those logos are better than nothing at all. However, not all vegetarians will be satisfied with just a logo. So, if you want to be absolutely sure that a product is free of animal, the best solution may be to only buy whole foods that are not pre-packaged by companies.

If you are not bothered by the stipulations and trust the companies you buy from, you may also find that a whole foods dietary supplement such as Sea Aloe is an ideal way to increase your dietary needs.

SeaAloe is an all-natural whole food vitamins and minerals supplement that is Vegan Certified. It’s easy to see why Sea Aloe may be a perfect choice for everyone. Why not make it the perfect choice for you?

What Are Probiotics?

If you’re like me, you’ve probably never heard of the term probiotics. Probiotics are live bacteria that are found in the digestive system. It is harmless bacteria that are beneficial to our body’s intestines since it fights against the development of bad bacteria.

There are around 400 types of the bacteria in our digestive system working together to aid in the fight against things like disease and illnesses. However, the same bacteria found inside of us is also available as a supplement.

The supplement is used to help reduce the effects of diarrhea and other stomach and intestine problems when antibiotics damage the good bacteria found inside of us. That same supplement may also be beneficial for jock itch, yeast and urinary tract infections as well.

The supplement may also help aid against Crohn’s Disease, irritable bowel syndrome, colon disease, bladder disease, radiation therapy effects, allergies, and colds. However, studies have shown that the bacteria supplement is most successful when used to help reduce bad bacteria caused by antibiotics and some illnesses.

In addition to the dietary supplement, you may also want to look for a natural vitamin like Sea Aloe.

SeaAloe is a whole food vitamin that contains the essential nutrients needed to help keep your body strong and healthy.

If a supplement or vitamin is a little hard to swallow, you may want to try an even more natural approach to reducing bad bacteria inside of the body.

Dairy products such as yogurt and cottage cheese both contain the same good bacteria found inside of us and may be just as effect in reducing symptoms of diarrhea, jock itch, yeast and urinary tract infections.

If you’re like me and cannot digest dairy products, sauerkraut, onions, asparagus and bananas are also a great source of that same good bacteria.

The choice is yours; why not make it a safer and more natural one?

What Are Trace Minerals?

While a trace mineral only consists of a small amount of inorganic substance, your body needs them just as much as it needs the other nutrients that food provides. Cobalt, copper, iron, iodine, manganese, selenium and zinc are all a part of the trace minerals group. Others that are a little less known to most of us are boron, germanium and molybdenum. All of these play an important role in digestion, bone and muscle development, and your immune system.

Boron’s main purpose is to keep your bones and teeth healthy and strong. Boron also improves out thinking capability and keeps us alert when we need to be. While a majority of us may not need to consume this nutrient, it certainly won’t hurt if you’re close to your elderly years since it may help with calcium absorption. Try snacking on an apple slice or make a spinach salad to get some extra boron in your diet.

Copper helps keep the heart and blood vessels healthy, along with energy to help keep us going. If you find yourself lacking energy try snacking on a slice of kiwi fruit or indulging in some broiled tilapia.

Germanium helps keep our immune system functioning properly as well as reduces the toxics and poisons that can pollute our body. Generally germanium is not needed in excess for most of us. If you feel you would like to add more of this nutrient in your diet however, you’ll find that garlic, onions and aloe vera all contain a good source of germanium.

Iodine is important for enabling our thyroids to function properly. For most, iodine is already including in our daily intake of table salt, but if you’ve removed this source of nutrient from your home, try including some sea vegetables in your diet.

Iron allows oxygen to flow properly from our lung to the rest of our body. If you feel you may need to boost your iron intake, try adding some steamed broccoli to your diet.

Manganese acts as enzyme activator for other nutrients such as ascorbic acid and thiamine. Manganese may also play an important role in producing sexual hormones. If you’d like to include more of this nutrient in your diet, try something different like steamed kale.

Molybdenum aids in your body’s production of energy and the growth of your nervous system. It is generally not necessary for most people to need extra molybdenum in their diet, however if you would like to increase your intake on this nutrient, try snacking on some raw cauliflower

Selenium is essential to help protect your cells from free radical damage. To add more selenium to your diet, try baked halibut or salmon for dinner tonight.

Zinc is a vital nutrient that helps your immune system ward off infections like a cold or the flu. When you feel ill snack on some pumpkin seeds or make a bowl of pea soup for lunch.

It is very important that we consume each of these particular nutrients on a daily basis.

SeaAloe whole food vitamins and minerals contains over 80 nutrients and elements, including over 40 trace minerals. Try a bottle of Sea Aloe today.

What Are Genetically Modified Ingredients?

Most of the foods on the market today, were once an inconvenience to the companies who sold them. They were not making top dollar and the companies needed more money with the least amount of expense. Today they’re no longer an inconvenience simply because those very same companies have begun modifying foods to make more money.

Genetically modified foods and ingredients didn’t happen overnight, however. Scientists have been modifying foods for almost two decades. They began with corn, soybean and canola, turning them into things like cooking oils and then changed the DNA structure of tomatoes. By using the tomato’s DNA, scientists were able to alter its cells so that it had a longer shelf life. They then sold the tomatoes to the public without any labels to warn us about their genetic testing.

The tomatoes were turned into paste and tested in Europe, this time with labels to see how Europeans would react. At first they accepted the DNA structured tomato paste, until a European scientist warned people that genetically modifying foods could cause disease and other health problems. The warning worked and many people, including fast food places, decided not to buy genetic enhanced ingredients.

The warning was these foods could cause allergic reactions, resistance to antibiotics, mutation to our own genes, and a loss of nutrition. But there was also a fear of endangering the environment since DNA that is enhanced from plants and animals cannot be cleaned up. This is a fear far worse than a chemical spill.

Yet even with this knowledge scientists continued to experiment. Soon they were experimenting on cows and peoples’ fears became worse after several outbreaks of Mad Cow Disease. This did not stop the testing of genetic foods, however.

Instead, efforts are continuing and scientists are now introducing more and more genetically modified foods everyday without our knowledge.

More recent foods that have been enhanced are diary products with rbGH and some vegetarian products such as soy burgers. Other foods include tortilla chips, powdered drink mixes, powder baby formulas and muffin mixes.

Because labeling is not necessary in the government’s eyes, there is no way of knowing which foods have been enhanced. So there is no way of knowing what products could be putting our lives at risk.

There are ways we can avoid products that have been altered. Some companies that have chosen not to buy these ingredients will have a label that says GMO (genetically modified organisms) free. Organic foods are another safe choice since the USDA generally will not allow experiments to be done on these foods. Soy is an exception of this regulation however and should be avoided. The best way to steer clear of DNA altered foods is by eating fresh and buying from your local farmers. Keep in mind though; even fresh and locally grown foods may not be GMO free. Stay safe and natural! Your body deserves it.

There are NO genetically modified foods or ingredients in SeaAloe. None.

What Is a Superfood?

Superfoods are everywhere. You can find them in books and magazines, vitamins, drinks and of course foods. And while they might not have special powers or be able to fly, they are considered some of the best-known foods for a reason.

Superfood is a word used to describe a food that is extremely high in nutrients compared to other foods. Foods that are considered super could be beneficial to our health since they contain a high source of antioxidants, carotenoids, flavonoids, phytonutrients, vitamins and other powerful nutrients.

Antioxidants are a combination of vitamins like A, C and E which help to slow down the process of free radicals that can cause damage to our cells. Blueberries are a well-known example for carrying a high source of antioxidants.

Carotenoids are highly unsaturated pigments that are found in fruits and vegetables. Carotenoids protect these foods from sun damage and work in a similar way as antioxidants do. A well-known carotenoid is beta-carotene, which can be found in carrots.

Flavonoids are a group of antioxidant chemical compounds, which give vegetables and fruits their rich beautiful colors. The sea vegetable Kale is an excellent example of a source containing flavonoids.

Phytonutrients are specific compounds found in plants that are believed to be beneficial for your health. A high source of phytonutrients can be found in foods like broccoli.

Vitamins are the backbone to our body’s health. They are a group of organic substances found in almost every food we digest. It is nearly impossible not to consume a food that doesn’t contain some form of vitamins.

However, not all foods are created equal. Many companies may label their own idea of products as super foods. Some may consider dark chocolate and some teas as a superfood when in reality they contain a high source of sugar and caffeine. While there is certainly nothing wrong with indulging is a small amount of these, too much can be unhealthy.

Instead, look for whole foods, which don’t contain unnatural additives such as sugar or sodium. Try to lean towards fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables whenever possible and avoid canned goods since they contain a high amount of sodium.

Although it is best to consume foods in whole when it comes to our health, it is not always possible. If you find it difficult to include super foods in your daily diet, you may want to a whole foods vitamin like SeaAloe.

Sea Aloe is an all-natural liquid vitamin that contains 13 rich super foods, plus other essential nutrients that are beneficial to your health.

It’s your health, your life. Why not make it a super one?

Why Sea Vegetables Are Such A Great Source of Nutrients

More and more people are starting to take notice of staying healthy by eating right. We stock our grocery carts full of fruits and vegetables and try to avoid eating fattening foods. Sometimes it’s not easy however.

Often we’re faced with busy workdays and no time to cook at home. When we don’t have time to cook, we tend to stop at our favorite restaurant or fast food chain. When that happens, we find ourselves ordering fattening foods because there are no healthy choices.

Yet not every restaurant is unhealthy. Many offer a variety of healthier choices, but often times we overlook those choices because they are a food that is unfamiliar to us. Choices like, kelp or nori, which are most often served in sushi or another Japanese dish.

Sea vegetables like kelp and nori actually come from the sea and are also known as seaweed. Seaweed vegetables aren’t really all that new when it comes to the health food industry, however. As a matter of fact they’ve been around for ages. These vegetables are actually harvested by Japan for their nutrients and other health benefits.

Because these vegetables grow in the ocean and have been untouched by man, they have an extremely high source of nutrients that are already found in the ocean water, unlike land plants. The vegetables get their nutrients from the flow of the ocean’s waves.

The seaweed vegetables are a good source of vitamins, a, B, C, D, E and K, as well as calcium, iron, zinc, potassium and magnesium. They are also a great source of protein, which makes them an excellent food choice for vegetarians.

But, they are not only an excellent source in nutrition. Each vegetable is also a low calorie food with almost no fat. This makes them a perfect choice for those of us who are trying to keep our weight down.

The best part about these nutrient rich vegetables is they aren’t just available in restaurants. Most can be found in health food stores and many local supermarkets.

Its uses in cooking are virtually endless. Nori is excellent for making sushi rolls while Kombu is wonderful when added to miso soup and kelp is fabulous in many kids of dishes.

Yet, there is no reason that these wonderful vegetables cannot also be consumed in a whole food liquid vitamin form as well. Whole food vitamins such as SeaAloe contain an excellent source of kelp and nori as well as 8 other nutrient-rich vegetables. It is an excellent way to get all of the healthy nutrients that you need in one bottle. Simple and easy.

Why Aloe Vera Is So Good For You

Aloe Vera is a very common plant that is found in many households. For most, its purpose is used in decoration and also as a soothing agent to the skin. For others it’s a beauty secret that was discovered in ancient Egyptian times. Yet, this very popular plant also holds a wonder source of nutrients when used as an edible juice that very few people know about.

A juice that is as healthful as it is delicious; this wonderfully nutritional plant is carefully harvested by hand in order to reap the various compounds in the plant leave’s juice.

The juice of the plant is an excellent source of vitamins A, B, C and E, as well as Folic Acid, Amino Acids, Calcium, Sodium, Magnesium, Iron, Potassium, Zinc and Protein, all of which are essential for a healthy body.

We need vitamins and minerals like those found in the juice of the plant in order to regulate our bodies and keep us going in our busy lives. Without these essential vitamins and minerals, our bodies would shut down on us and slowly wither away.

More importantly, the nutrients found in this beneficial plant is an excellent way to help maintain a healthy weight, verses eating fatty foods that are full additives and harmful to our bodies. Consuming nutrients that are chocked full of vitamins and minerals is the only way to keep our bodies healthy and strong.

Aloe Vera can easily be found in health food stores and purchased as a pre-packaged juice for consumption. If visiting the health food store is ideal, look for juice that is hand-harvested and hand-processed inner gel only, since anything less won’t provide as many nutrients.

Another way to enjoy the juice is by growing the plant, then cutting close to the leaf’s base and extracting its nutritional benefits. Once extracted however, it’s not wise to drink the juice in its potent state, since it can be very bitter. Instead, the juice of the plant should be mixed with water or another juice.

Yet, the best way to reap the benefits of the plant’s nutrients is by taking a nutritional health supplement such as SeaAloe, which contains the plant’s juice as well as other nutritional whole foods. Taking a vitamins and minerals supplement like Sea Aloe is much more convenient than growing the plant and more nutritional than the juice alone.

Remember, the body you have is the only one you will ever get. You may be able to hide what’s on the outside, but you cannot nourish the inside without the proper nutrients. Take care of your body and your body will take care of you.
